CMEA-SBS Band and Orchestra Festivals
CMEA-SBS Instrumental Music Festival Mission Statement
The Southern Border Section of the California Music Educators’ Association is a proud sponsor of many local adjudicated band and orchestra festivals each school year. Our philosophy behind these festivals is to provide a venue for the evaluation of student musical performances that is both rigorous and educationally valuable. At each of our festivals, ensembles will perform for a rating and/or constructive comments from a panel of judges, and then receive an onstage clinic from one of the judges. Our aim is to provide a forum for high-quality musical assessment and growth that both students and directors alike will thoroughly enjoy. Please follow the steps below to register for one of our festivals, and we look forward to hosting you this spring!

STEP 4: Check out the following notices regarding the new invoicing system and payment method
New instantaneous invoicing system!
The system in which your invoices are processed is now automated! You should receive an invoice in PDF format via email moments after submitting your registration. Because of the new system, you will receive an individual invoice for each entry rather than a single invoice for all entries for your school. See STEP 6 below for further details.
Invoice troubleshooting: Check your junk/spam folder(s). If there's no invoice in your junk/spam folder(s), then you entered your email address incorrectly when submitting. Please re-enter your registration and double-check the accuracy of your email address before submitting.
New online payment method!
You can now submit payments for your festival entries online with a credit/debit card! With our first paid, first scheduled policy for CMEA-SBS Instrumental Music Festivals, you can submit payment immediately after registering for the festival(s) of your choice! You can pay each invoice individually, or take care of all of your entries in a single payment, and a PayPal account is not necessary to use the online payment method. Please note: Online payments are subject to a 4% transaction fee. Also, you will not receive a payment confirmation email from the Instrumental Music Festival Coordinator since a receipt will be provided to you through the online payment process.
