President's Message - September

A Mega Conference
I’d like to take a moment to personally invite you to the 2016 Arts Empower Mega Conference.  In its fourth year, the Mega Conference continues to bring together the four arts organizations (Music, Visual Art, Dance, and Drama) each who offer sessions specific to their discipline. Held in beautiful Balboa Park, this day of professional development and collaboration is not to be missed. Please Join us on October 13th and for more information about CMEA-SBS’s specific offerings this year: read on.
This year CMEA-SBS is offering one of the strongest session line-ups I’ve seen in the four-year history of this conference.  Whether you teach, winds, strings, choral, elementary, or general music, there is truly something for everyone.  This year’s conference will include presenters such as Marcia Neel, Michael Gerdes, Patrick Walders, Travis Cross, and Gregg Hansen. This year will provide reading sessions, strategies for instruction, instructional technology, and tips for newer teachers entering the field.  There is a lot being offered so please take a minute and review the entire session line-up.

Whatever you take away from this conference, perhaps the most memorable will be the opportunity to collaborate with others. The discussions, the new friends, and the colleagues you will meet all make the Mega Conference an experience that inspires and re-energizes those who attend.

We hope you will join us. Registration is now discounted at $75.00 through September which includes all of the sessions, breakfast, and lunch. For more information about the Arts Empower Mega Conference click here.
